two hundred-eighty eight.

bucket full of.

apologies no longer

converse with sorrow -

no longer sit with remorse -

no longer dance with sincerity -

no longer lay with repentance -

no longer sleep with guilt.

apologies have lost weight
and are holding up signs,
begging people to believe
in them, again -

apologies are starving for
attention and acceptance
but they no longer hold weight -
